My Real Haunt

This is a cautionary true tale, one that I hope you will never have to experience.  It is about my move to Redmond and how it would erase any doubts concerning the validity of  paranormal phenomena, by the end of the year we would be calling a  'professional' paranormal team of investigators  for help.  Unlike ghost reality shows, When you LIVE in a house with ghosts it is far from entertaining, it is terrifying bound with a feeling of helplessness. A ghostly feeling-or  unseen presence is one thing but what happened in this house felt purely malicious in nature, putting our love to the ultimate test. As I recall it all began with the land lord, whom we had called to schedule a viewing of his rental. Viewing his property came with an unusual requirement, the land lord  insisted that in order to view his property~he must first "visit" our home, he would decide  if we where worthy tenants. . Sure, it seemed a strange request but considering that my bonus was getting to live blocks from my best friend I put his unusual request on the back burner. We had nothing to hide, so what the heck? Our initial visit to the property might have told us much if we where aware of how to watch out for creepy landlords and there creepy families.

We did not know then but we DO know now, so take notes here on what I learned as to avoid renting a haunted home. We where approved for a walk through on a beautiful July day, arriving for the walk through we noticed how the property was set back from the other house it had a perfectly manicured lawn and an old majestic elm tree that  only added to our excitement. At the end of the drive we next noticed our future land lord standing next to his wife, she was struggling to grab a large cement block and she was building a retaining wall. Her expression was uncomfortable and I assumed perhaps she was annoyed at all of the grunt work she was having to do. Alas, I don't like to judge and presuppose to much.Soon my hubby was ushered inside the house as we women folk remained outside chatting, exchanging recipes and such, lol. Not my usual behavior, However I was compelled to act in a manner fitting of the East Side, we really wanted this house! It was ridiculous how good the price for rent was, too good.

The first time I experienced something was different about this place the ink was not even dry on the paper. It was the first day we moved in and I was trying in vain to get any hot water to go on. I took a break and went upstairs when, from the picture window in our new two level, 6 bedrooms, plus (w)reck room, dual fireplace, downstairs mother in law-house. (meaning it was big) I saw the land lords wife across the street wow what luck, she could surely turn on the water heater. I decided to flag her down with my best friend at my side. As we approached her she startled  like a deer in the head lights. Politely I said, "hey, I am so glad to see you, can you please help me? The water heater must be off, can you tell me how to turn it on?" Her reaction shocked both my friend and I. She looked up nervously and excitedly said, "No,I won't go into the house! "It would be many months before I would come piece it together why she was so hesitant.
